We use Glasses Direct and they’re bloody good, too. Just make sure you get your pupillary distance when you get your prescription from the optician; many don’t give it to you unless you ask, as they want you to buy their specs.

I wear these, with extra-thin, reactolite lenses and a scratch resistant coating, which add a bit to the cost, but I’m insured for £150 a year for specs, so it doesn’t really matter. They’re as light as a feather and really comfortable to wear, plus you get a second pair free. I’d recommend glasses direct to anyone, really good service and they will do repairs if you’re a drunken dumbass who keeps sitting on the fuckers; they’d cost a shit-load more from Boots etc. Mrs. Camel was paying over £300 a pair from Dolland and Aitchison before I introduced her to the delights of internet glasses; the last pair she bought from glasses direct cost her £70, quite a difference!

It does look like the same operation, DB. Maybe someone’s copied their business model.
